How do we make our Tinned Albacore Tuna?
Organic Ocean’s delicious tinned tuna was developed by celebrated sustainable seafood chef, Robert Clark. Hand packed in 160 g tins, our tinned tuna is all natural using only BC Albacore Tuna - the very same sashimi quality tuna that we make our Wild Albacore Haidacore™ Tuna Loins from. Our tinned tuna contains no added salt making it heart healthy and perfect for low sodium diets. Organic Ocean's Wild BC Albacore tuna is acknowledged as having some of the lowest mercury content in the world while being naturally high in the antioxidant selenium. Our albacore tuna is cooked in it’s own natural juices creating a rich tasting experience unmatched in the tinned tuna world. Most tinned tuna are cooked twice; once before tinning, and once during the tinning process. However, our fish are only cooked once, during the tinning process and contain no added oils or water. We believe that this allows the fish to retain more of its natural flavour and nutrients, and it’s still ready to eat right out of the tin.
